Embedded technology and Internet of Things (IoT) are booming. On the foundation of traditional application, embedded technology is once again booming with its new target on IoT. There are recent trends in the embedded system and IoT industries. First is the frequent integrations and merges, especially with embedded system chip companies. Second is the slowing down of mobile phone shipment and flat growth rate of global semiconductor. Chip and embedded system companies are aiming at growing industries like IoT, Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Third, with increasing pressure in IoT security, security design still have a long way to go. Fourth, IoT cloud platform and Operating System are experiencing a turbulent time, while open source hardware and maker movement contributing to the change of landscape.
Southern China is one of the critical strongholds of information technology industry of China, within which Shenzhen is well known as “Silicon Valley of China”. Embedded System Beijing Forum, China Electronic Appliance Corporation and China Electronics Conference and Information Corporation will be holding “Southern Region Embedded Technology and IoT Industry Development Forum” during 2017 China Information Technology Expo (www.citexpo.org), which will also serve as the 21st ESBF meeting. The forum will invite Embedded System and IoT practitioners and scholars to share thoughts on embedded technology, education and IoT industry.
