Through years of government support and guide practitioners in the enterprise and the joint efforts of industry, IoT is constantly being improving and developing. In recent years, the world’s leading IT companies have invested in IoT, the core technology continues to mature. The integration of IoT and traditional industries / IT technology is well on its way, giving birth to many new industry and new applications, such as consumer electronics and wearable systems. On the industrial field of industrial networking and industrial 4.0. This vitality will deepen the application of IoT, and guide the industry into a new stage of development. The outlook is good, the reality is still grim, but there are several issues. For example, China lacks IoT killer application, and the core is still in the hands of a few large foreign enterprises.
In 2009, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao put forward a slogan for IoT in China: “Sense China”. In the same year 30 universities Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Hunan University, became the first to open IoT engineering major. In February 2012, the Ministry of Education issued a notice of approval to 80 colleges and universities, including Beijing Jiaotong University, Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology and Jinan University, to open IoT engineering. So far, China has more than 100 colleges and universities that set up IoT professional. This five years IoT in our country become hot, a lot of IoT related businesses have sprung up. Since 2013, when the first IoT major undergraduate students graduated, universities, businesses and students has been voicing different thoughts, such as teachers and teaching conditions are very limited and subject construction is a mixed-up of similar disciplines.
The meeting will focus on issues of education and IoT and industry trends, the conference will invite a number of experts and scholars to speak and share their thoughts in teaching, research and industrial development. We hope the conference will help you clarify the current status quo of China’s IoT industry, and push forward the efforts to seek new opportunities.
